Last week a few of the girls and I were invited to spend our Wednesday like any lady should. Talking about all things fashion over a beautiful lunch at Gilsons with free flowing cocktails. We were treated to an exclusive viewing of Sussan AW17 collection and even got to play dress ups in between courses.
For me the collection was very much in keeping with Sussan history – they talk very strongly about knowing their customer and are all about creating key pieces that last longer than one season. They do this by choosing to work with classic silhouettes but making sure to add a touch of “up to the minute” style with the fabrics, patterns and colours they select. Coming into winter it’s all about layers… something us Melbournians know how to do all too well.
I obviously had the coolers months in mind when I was there as I couldn’t be pulled away from their outerwear choices. Think Military style blazers, on trend bombers and soft as butter leather jackets.
Prior to the event I was lucky enough to be treated to a trip in store to select my outfit for the day. I was spoilt for choice when it came to denim but finally settled on this pair of classic ripped blue denim jeans. When choosing my top there were a number of bright and beautiful items to select from but of course I ended up with this little monochrome number. It had me at black, white and spots but the exaggerated sleeves is what really sealed the deal. Styling this with a number of gold hardware pieces and accessories brought this otherwise casual look up to a “ladies who lunch” worthy outfit.
