LIFE ON 5TH AVENUE II NYC

When previously thinking of New York City living… spacious… roomy and light filled weren’t the first things that came to mind. New York City is infamous for its small shoe box, dark, low ceiling hotel rooms however after spending five luxurious nights at the ANDAZ 5th Avenue spacious… roomy and light filled are exactly what I would describe it as.

As soon as you enter the lobby you realize the Andaz brand isn’t like any other. It seems relaxed but professional, young but mature. The lobby isn’t as formal as most, it is more of a communal area where you can check-in but also grab a tea or coffee in the morning or glass of wine at night.

As soon as I opened the door to my room I was taken aback by the view, my room was overlooking the State Library. Ahhh NYC and your many wonders. The oversized windows allowed the room to be filled with natural light that compliments the neutral tones of the room’s furnishings.

New York City is all about real estate and the first rule of real estate is location, location, location… the ANDAZ 5th Avenue definitely delivers on that. It is perfectly located in the middle of it all but far enough away from Times Square to not be trampled by photo snapping tourists every time you leave the hotel.

Ohhhh and I almost forgot….the best bit!! Ok so maybe it’s not the best bit but its certainly a big plus in my books.  No longer do you have to pay $8 for a bottle of water or can of coke when you are dying of thirst at 3am. The little packet of nuts $12?? No thank you because when staying at the Andaz the mini bar is FREE yes you read that right FREE. What a note to end on! Not a lot is free these days so I’ll take what I can get 😉

The Style Smith was a guest of the Andaz 5th Avenue, however my opinion is always my own.
